Toronto, ON native Jessica DiGirolamo began playing hockey at a young age. Like many young girls, the desire to play hockey stemmed from having an older brother who played the sport. Jessica’s life-long passion for the sport led her to dedicating her time off-ice to advancing the sport for the next generation of young athletes.

The inception of the first Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) came after decades of advocacy by generations of individuals who imagined a league much better than they were afforded. It is her hope that by coaching and engaging with young athletes, that the world of women’s hockey continues to advance, and that it is left better than where she found it.

At the NCAA level, Jessica spent five seasons playing hockey for Syracuse University, where she earned many accolades, was a two-time captain, and set the program record for points by a defenseman.

After graduation, she made her professional debut with Team Adidas of the PWHPA. In 2023, Jessica DiGirolamo was the 34th pick overall in the inaugural PWHL Draft. Just days after signing her first professional contract, she made her Senior National Team debut playing for Team Canada.

After her first season with PWHL Boston, she is currently playing her second year for the newly named Boston Fleet. Jessica will be back home in Ontario to train young girls who aspire to play at the National and Professional level.
